In recent years Murray has worked with a wide variety of organisations (over 90) in Australia and the Asia Pacific Region to analyse, develop, design, conduct and evaluate programs for the development of business and project management staff of public and private sector organisations. Most of the organisations have been undertaking significant business re-engineering and have relied on organisational and professional development programs to facilitate change.

Murray has managed and consulted in a diverse range of projects including training systems, organisational change and international infrastructure and aid projects. The selection and use of relevant procedures and toolsets is a key strength and Murray has assisted many organisations to achieve optimal processes for the specific level, type and complexity of project. More recently he has specialised in developing and implementing Key Performance Indicators for business and managerial performance in the project/contracting context, and has created a Competency Based Assessment System for professional development in project & program management.


In the last sixteen years, Murray has been involved in the following project/contracting environments:
• Managed a portfolio of 23 International Projects (with three PMs) in: Indonesia, Solomon Islands, Vietnam, Mongolia, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Pakistan, China, and PNG. The projects were funded by AusAID, the Asian Development Bank, the World Bank and the UN
• Assessed over 400 project managers for professional status (AIPM Registered PM)
• Developed customised PM training and provided direct consultancy support for clients such as HEC (Tas), ABB, Airservices Australia, ADI, ALSTOM Power, ASIC, Boral, Containers Packaging, CHUBB, Honeywell, Rail Services Australia/RIC, Energy Australia, Ergon Energy, Invensys, DHA
• Developed project management Certificate and Diploma programs for corporate clients such as DPWS (NSW), the ASX, Prudential Corporation, OPTUS, Telstra and the Australian Federal Police
• Australian Institute of Project Management (AIPM) & Project Management Institute USA (PMI) conferences (as presenter) – 1997, 1999, 2001, 2003, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008
• Public Sector Programs (Canberra) for DEET, DSS, Dept Finance, The Senate, Dept Parliamentary Services
• Public Sector Major Project for JKR Ministry of Works, Kuala Lumpur as Competency Standards specialist and assessor, and supervised the BPPM Change Project Manager for the establishment of the Complex Projects Management Division; includes development of a customised PM assessment system. (2006-2009)
• PMI (USA) International Papers on the CIP process delivered in Bangkok, Shanghai and Kuala Lumpur (2006).
• Established BPPM as a Registered Training Organisation, and PMI Registered Education Provider (2008).
